The CAM1 is designed to be connected to other equipment only via the IPS Isolator Power Supply. The IPS unit enables other non EN 60601 compliant equipment to be connected, provided that the IPS unit and the other equipment is out of reach of the operator and patient. i.e. the operator must not be able to make contact with the patient or the patient side of the IPS at the same time as making contact with the non safe equipment. The IPS unit provides 5kV of isolation from the mains and other equipment with less than 5uA of leakage current.
