There are two connectors on the interface card. The top connector provides the control and CAM1 inputs. The IPS-PC lead with the single male 9 way connector fits here. The other end with a female 9 way connector connects to the IPS module. The CAM1-IPS lead with the single male 9 way connector fits into the IPS 'CAM1' connector. The two connectors on the other end fits to the CAM1 module and the CCD camera 'DC IN/SYNC'.
| Warning |
Do NOT use any other cable to extend the cable supplied with the CAM1. Doing so WILL damage the CAM1, the IPS and also the interface board. Although the connectors are the same type as used for serial RS232 cables, the internal wiring from to connector to connector is different. |
The other connector on the interface card provides additional analogue inputs, a digital IO line and an 'audio' output. Use the sound card cable to enable audio signal monitoring. Connect the female 9 way connector here and the other end to the 'Line In' socket on a SoundBlaster compatible sound card.
Connect the top of the CCD module to the IPS 'video in'. The CAM1 video out should be taken from the BNC 'Video Out' on the IPS. This cable is not provided since the other connector depends on the monitor or video board being used.
